Ever since I first heard their debut single Dead 2 me/Break i fell in love with the sound that is Darkstar. After further more stunning releases Lillyliver/Out of Touch and Squeeze My Lime/Need you I had to invite these lads to come and play here in Carmarthen. Unfortunately only Small handful of people came and saw them play. All i got to say to the rest of you is that you missed out!!! They was awesome!!!

Any ways its fast becoming the end of the year and news has come about that Darkstar are gearing up to release a new album in the early part of 2010. I’m for one can not wait! I have not heard a single track off it yet but i got a hunch it going to be one of them albums that could get a Mercury Prize Nomination. Yep thats how good i think these guys are!

Oh my God i found these guys music all by chance and all i got to say is The Squire of  Gothos are the boss!!

i could never imagine anyone getting  Fidget/Bassline House to get dance floors more loony then it already does but these guys tunes do! Amazing!!!

Ever since Damien Russell (the man behind Toasty boy) decided to hang up the Toasty boots and not do the Dubstep thing any more I’m one that sure misses him. This man is easily a major influence  in crafting the early stages of what is now the Dubstep scean. You can hear how with amazing tunes like The Knowledge, Like Sun, Angel, Dibble and the lovely Skinny. All truly fantastic bits of work.

What ever Damien decides to do i hope he as much as an influence as he was when he was Toasty Boy.

I’m going to let you in to a little secret here, but I’m getting a soft spot for Fidget House at the moment and i don’t know why?

To be honest i do, every time i hear a bit of it my inner child comes out and when it comes out, it comes out with tracky bottoms, bad hair do, cheeky banter, the urge to get in to mischief and all it wants to do is bust out some mad shapes on the dance floor, in the living room, on the street or even at work!  This is truly the theme music to every lovable gobby rouge.

The chief rouges to this music has to be Jack Beats. These guys are setting the bar very much highly with their fun vibes and addictive basslines. If your not even tapping your foot to these tunes then ya not letting that inner child out.

This man has become a firm favorite with us at Project Roach. Well Why not? Being a great chap and with great tunes like A G S, Crunk in Space,  Bats in The Belfry, the superb Mecha and  the massive hit When I Look At You. You can see why.

Emalkay has finally got the long over due success we felt he deserved and it don’t seem like its stopping any time soon. With his next release, Solid State/Battle Suit (Storming Productions) due out early 2010  (what we urge you to buy) we think Emalkay is going to be unstoppable in the  new year and many more years to come.

Wow, what can i say? there was me thinking that my laptop didn’t/couldn’t save any of the recordings we made at the last Roach Me. But today as i was cleaning up a few files, i found a strange audio file, i opened it to find to my amazement it was this recording of Goth Trad’s brilliant performance.

Its not the best of recordings but you still must have a listen and relive a small moment of that Fantastic night!!!
